I trawled through the majority of the suggested library blogs for over an hour and my brain is suffering from a severe case of information overload. The following link 'Master Your Information Manifesto: 21 Tips to Deal with Info Overload' proving to be particularly apt.
Many of the posts were full of acronyms I didn't understand and technologies of which I hadn't heard. I quickly found myself disengaged. Obviously, the target demographic is for librarians and I'm sure the information would make more sense if I was a librarian. I found that the blogs relied on assumed knowledge of which I don't yet have. It would be an interesting exercise to revisit the blogs in two years time and re-evaluate.
The blogs were predominantly American. It would be good to have more of a local and international cross section.
The highlight for me was a mind blowing YouTube clip on the rapid speed of technology. I also liked the idea behind 'Judge a Book by it's Cover' and can relate to the bizarre and hilarious covers that you encounter in a public library.
